Circle of Life free essay sample

This crazy thing they call life. My wild ride started on Friday June 4, 1999. I was born at 12:11pm in Winfield, Kansas. I weighed 6 pounds and 12 ounces and measured 19 inches long.Shortly after being born I was about 15 months old, my mom and dad started having some problems. One night during bluegrass, Bluegrass is a week long event in Winfield for different types of music. she got off work early came home, to find that me and my dad were nowhere to be found. She called him many times and he didn’t answer. She called my grandparents asked if they had seen or heard anything, they all searched for hours. My mom started checking his friends and found his truck at his buddy’s camper. She went inside and found me laying on the couch with no clothes on and nothing to prevent from falling and hurting myself. She walked into the back bedroom and found him passed out with someone else. After a while of being together they had my little brother Austin and shortly got married after. They quickly ended and went their separate ways. They fought over custody of my brother for the longest time. Rick took the sneaky way and enrolled Austin in school in Newkirk so he couldn’t live with my mom. 2 years later she meet up with an older classmate, they began talking and she would go visit him in Virginia. They had a very short engagement. My mom, brother and I ended up moving to Virginia. They had a small wedding just us kids and them. They soon had my other little brother Cody.In 2012 the day after Christmas I tore my ACL walking throughthe living room. March of 2013 I got it repaired. My sophomore year I got this horrible back pain, I dealt with it for 3 months before the doctors even did anything to figure out what was wrong with me. I had a 7mm kidney stone stuck in my utter. They went in and scooped it out. Now I sit with 8 kidney stones, 4 in each kidney. My junior year the doctors found a cyst/bubble looking thing behind my uterus. They drained it the day before halloween I spent my halloween in bed sick from the medicine. March of my junior, I had more knee surgery to take the screw out from my ACL repair because it has caused an infection and lots of irritation. Now I am a senior in highschool with only 1 health problem of low blood pressure which causes me to get light headed and dizzy. I am on the path to graduate in May of 2017. After I graduate I plan on going to Cowley community college to start physical therapy training and then continuing my learning at another school not sure which one yet. After school for physical therapy I plan on opening my own office. I choose to become a physical therapist because after hurting my knee I was alway at one and I’m very interested in the muscles and the way they work. I plan on saving up to take care of my mom after everything she has done for me. I’ll have a nice big house away from everyone so I can enjoy the environment and peace an quiet. After having myphysical therapy office open for a while I want to get a teacup yorkie and name her Gordy I’ve always wanted one and there just the cutest things. She will go everywhere with me, I believe that she will be good for my patients and will help bring a smile to their faces. Hopefully in the future I’ll meet someone that I can settle down with and start a life with. Maybe I’ve already met them, but who really knows. My wedding would be perfect to me. It will be In a field where the guest sit on hay bales covered with quilts and the color of the wedding will be Coral and Turquoise. My mom and hopefully my grandpa will still be here to walk me down the aisle. My teacup yorkie will be the ring barrier. The groom and groomsmen will wear nice new jeans and clean boots. The groom will have a turquoise button up shirt with a jacket to wear over it if it is chilly out, the groomsmen will have coral button shirts on and jackets. The bridesmaids will have nice flowy coral sundress/summer type dresses and boots to match. My dress will be a sweetheart neckline and simple type dress with a turquoise belt and i’ll wear boots under it. The reception will be in a barn will latern lights and the tables will be of to the sides but still enough to room to sit comfortably. There will be a pizza buffet and cotton candy and much more to choose from. The music will cover all different types. After the wedding I’ll buy a truck with all the money we saved since i’m crafty. The truck will be a pearl white chevy silverado with the lifts, bow tie, running boards and the tailgate handle being pink. The inside will be leather with heated and air conditioned seats. After being married for a few years and saving up and enjoying life together. We’ll decide to have kids. I would want a boy first that way he would protect his baby sister.Like my little brothers do for me. I want my boys to play sports and enjoy the outdoors, my girls will get the choice to play sports to be in dance or plays.I want to die happy with my family and be at peace. Here to hoping my wild ride is a memorable one, hopefully goes the way I want it too.

Sustainability Accounting and Accountability Theory

Question: Discuss about the Sustainability Accounting and Accountability Theory. Answer: Introduction: Accounting Researchers had shown great interest from where politics affects accounting standard-setting process (Pratt 2013). This means casual observation of the standard-setting process suggesting politics and regulatory activities affects setting of accounting standards. In other words, Researchers majorly develops as well as test given economic-based theories of standard setting for capturing the political factors. The main goal relies upon synthesizing empirical research mainly in politics of standard setting at FASB (Financial Accounting Standards Board). This aims at clearly understanding the politics of standard setting for researching on the progress level as far as possible (Dillard and Vinnari 2016). Challenges It has been noticed that there is no one model that aims at fully capturing the complex economic as well as political nature of accounting standard setting. This reveals models provides necessary framework especially for empirical work (Deegan 2013). Researchers faces danger in over fitting the data by interpreting given empirical work for consistent favored model. There are various challenges viewed in relation with fitting the theory as well as empirical work. There is generally good deal of evidence showing the effect of politics especially on standard setting. It reveals considering number of examples both in US as well as on international basis as directly affected by given standard setting outcomes (Bebbington, Unerman and O'Dwyer 2014). These examples make it clear for the politics as playing major role in standard setting. These challenges help in providing larger sample as observed in IAS 39. Risks There have been considerate discussions regarding the proposed new accounting rules for leases. This means at the risk of over-simplification, it considers the current FASB or IASB proposal for capitalizing the lease transactions involving operating leases depicted in the balance sheet. It help neutral observers for bringing improvement in accounting as in case of economic substance in many leases for specified period for asset purchase financed by debt (Pratt 2013). Several efforts have been undertaken for eliminating the alternative accounting treatments for given transaction class. For instance, if an individual believes managers takes consideration regarding the accounting choices for signaling private information, it eliminates with the ability from reporting transactions for reducing informational values. Issues Agenda of standard setters considers as one of the crucial determinant of accounting standards for checking on the accounting issues inclusive of standard setters. In other words, there are some of the controversial accounting issues as addressed by FASB in case of oil and gas accounting. In this case, it was effectively added by FASB agenda in understanding the full cost method accounting rules (Dillard and Vinnari 2016). Therefore, one of the methodological issues reveals restricting the samples from accounting firms lobby from the comment letter process. For Instance, general approach reveals lobbying in two major aspects such as including comment letters in respondent with important standard setting issues. There are various findings found from the factors governing political and regulatory attributes such as commonality among the positions (Deegan 2013). There is no strong coalitions in and among the constituents in aligning with varied process for gaining understanding of substantive issues for underlying standard setting process. Australia Studies Essays - Discrimination, Human Resource Management

Australia Studies Since 1988 Australia has changed quite a bit, one would hope it was for the better and it looks that way. As Australians we have become more health conscious and we have stopped being ashamed of our multiculturalism. There are three domains where change can be noticed the most. These are: Environment, Culture and Social systems. In each of these domains over the past twelve years Australia has become more diverse in culture, richer in Environment and more giving and learned in Social systems. ENVIRONMENT From the mid twentieth century Australia has been a nation of people who flock to the beach on the weekends as a ritual. Everyone eagerly awaited the arrival of a radio station's car or truck to spray them in cooking oil so they could roast on the beach (quite literally). twelve Years on we have discovered such actions result in less than desirable outcomes and no longer do we wait for the car to spray us with cooking oil but to give us packets of sunscreen. We have made this step forward collectively so that our horrendous rate of death from skin cancer will hopefully drop. Although its like denuding us of our stereotypical no worries attitude to life now, we have to worry about our health before our fun and social life. In the pre nineteen eighties almost every suburban Australian household had an English garden, with roses and hedges and anything English they could find. This was most probably a reminder of the earlier times when it was hand on heart and all love the monarchy. Unfortunately this is now a phenomenon that has plagued Australia for far too long. However this trend is dieting thankfully to the republican movement and the gardeners who believe that replanting Australia in it natural species of flora is the best way of going to get back our rugged outback feel and get our natural fauna eating our own food and not some English or introduced species. We are slowly but surely getting into the new beat that Australia is very unique and we cannot keep on being like our European counterparts. CULTURE Australia is unique in that we have a very diverse sense of culture. We have this diversity because we have so many different cultures living here. Melbourne has the largest community of Greeks outside of Athens! This is astonishing but just one of the many factors of why we are multicultural. Nowadays being the Australia we live in we are very tolerant of this, and in many ways exploit this by using it as an excuse for a celebration like the Greeks' Glendi festival. In the pre nineteen eighties Australia wasn't quite as tolerant as demonstrated by the whites only policy. This policy was very unfair and made sure that people who weren't aussie enough were not granted access to Australia. By today's standards this is not only unfair, but unless good reasons are givin its against the law. We have changed because being multicultural means being diverse and people get along a lot better then and we can all relate and experience things that are different. The reason this didn't occur befo re was that people were scared to try and be different because they might have been called un Australian. In the past twelve years Australia has changed to become more tolerant and we have moved on from the British ideas and have become more independent. We ave recovered our own identity but this time as a country of prosperity and an easy lifestyle. Bibliography Class handouts www.Australia.com Geography

Avoid These 15 Career Mistakes If You Want to Get and Keep a Job

Avoid These 15 Career Mistakes If You Want to Get and Keep a Job If love is a battlefield (and we all know it is, thanks to Pat Benatar), then the career world is a minefield. There’s the resume and interview process, but the dangers don’t end once you’re hired and installed comfortably in a cubicle somewhere. Let’s take a look at some of the most common career mistakes throughout the job cycle, and what you can do to try to avoid them. 1. Before You’re Hired2. On the Job3. On Your Way Out4. Your Future CareerBefore You’re HiredThe clock for potential missteps kicks off the second you decide to apply for a job. Here’s what you should be wary of doing:1. Making blatant mistakes in the cover letter/resume.In many cases, your cover letter is your first chance to make an impression on the recruiter or hiring manager. If you go in with a bunch of obvious errors (or one really egregious one), this suggests that you might be as sloppy an employee as you appear as a candidate. Always check everything thorou ghly for typos, and if possible, have a trusted friend or family member read over any materials you’re going to release to the world.I have a friend who made the most horrible typo possible, accidentally leaving a super-vulgar mistyped word in a cover letter to a company that, shall we say, wasn’t very likely to laugh off such a word appearing in communication with them. Needless to say, he never got a call for an interview at that place. Trust me, it’s worth it to spend the time to write and revise your resume, engineering it down to every word.2. Addressing the wrong person/company.Dear Sir at Widget Company, I was excited to hear about an opening at your company. I’ve always wanted to work at Widgets R Us. I anxiously await your response. [Spoiler alert: no interview forthcoming.]3. Phoning-in the interview.Whether you don’t really want this job after all, or you think you can coast because you’re very qualified, don’t take anythin g for granted. Always bring your A-game to any interview. Even if the job is unlikely to pan out, it’s good practice, and the people who take the time to talk with you about the job will appreciate your engagement and enthusiasm.4. Not following up with a thank you.Whether the interview went awesome or terribly, always follow up quickly with a thank you note. Manners go a long way, and you never know when you’ll come across the same people in the course of a future job search.5. Being too aggressive (or not aggressive enough). The Goldilocks approach works here. Don’t go in, all iron-grip handshake and unblinking eye contact. Also don’t go in looking at the floor and answering only direct questions. Try to find a happy medium where you’re confident, but not challenging every interviewer you meet to a staring contest.6. Talk money too early in the hiring process. As the old saying goes, â€Å"he who shoots first, loses.† If you bring up salary before the company is ready to make an offer, you can come off as mercenary- or worse, you can unintentionally limit your negotiating power after you have an offer in hand. Leave the interview process for getting to know the job and presenting yourself as the best candidate, and keep the negotiating for later. There’s no real upside to discussing money early in the process, and many opportunities for it to blow back on you.7. Not negotiating at all. No matter how grateful you are to get a job, always try to negotiate the best possible salary and benefits. Companies expect this, and as long as your requests are reasonable, it’s a must-do once you have a job offer. If you don’t negotiate and try to build on the initial offer, the only one you’re hurting is yourself. On the JobOnce you’ve got the job, don’t get too complacent- you still need to be careful about making mistakes. This doesn’t necessarily mean that you need to be perfect at all times, and that errors won’t sometimes happen in the course of your job. These are more the situations to avoid in the workplace.8. Making decisions purely based on money. If you love your job but jump ship for the first opportunity that comes along and pays better, you could live to regret that. Make sure that major decisions (like accepting a job somewhere else or deciding to leave) are backed up by a number of factors you’ve considered, including salary, benefits, your overall level of happiness, and your career goals9. Keeping your head down.Working hard is super important, but you know what else is too? Connecting with coworkers. You don’t have to be best buds, but making a nominal effort to get your coworkers can really help you later on. Not only do you get comfortable with people whose faces you see every day, but you never know when an ally will come in handy in the office. Quash those introvert tendencies and make small talk the next time you find y ourself waiting at the copier with â€Å"Tim†¦uh, Something from accounting.†10. Limiting your network to people you work with. It’s great to get to know people at every level in your company (see #9). However, don’t fall into a trap where your entire active network is located within your office’s four walls. Part of the beauty of having a network is getting information and opportunities from other places, so why limit yourself? If your LinkedIn profile is mostly people you see at least four times a week at the watercooler, it’s time to branch out and start making connections with people at other companies.11. Avoiding difficult situations.Challenges are excellent experience builders. Fear of failing can make us more likely to avoid taking on unfamiliar projects and goals, but you could be hurting yourself in the long run to keep things smooth in the short term. You’re unlikely to learn new skills or gain experience if you stick narrowly to your job description. It’ll also leave you with fewer instances where you can point to genuine growth and problem solving skills.12. Not owning up to mistakes. Not wanting to get in trouble with the boss is a pretty valid feeling. However, I’m assuming that you’re human. And accordingly, mistakes will happen at some point. It’s how you deal with those that can make or break your reputation. Don’t be the person who starts looking for someone to throw under the bus when things are going wrong. Be the one who says, â€Å"this is what’s wrong, here’s how we’re going to approach this, and here’s how this will be handled moving forward.†Not only that, but you also don’t want to earn a reputation as someone who trashes coworkers to make yourself look better. If you’re leading a group and others dropped the ball, it shows better leadership skills to take responsibility for the group’s performance a nd move on than to sit there pointing fingers at everyone else.13. Saying yes to everything. This is a tough one. You want to seem like an uber-employee, able to handle everything that comes your way. However part of being that uber-employee is knowing your limits, and being able to manage priorities. Getting overwhelmed is never going to be helpful- not for you, and not for anyone who’s counting on you to do the things you said you’d do.On Your Way Out Oh, did you think that once you’ve decided to leave your job, it no longer matters what you do? Nope, you’re still on the hook. There’s still potential for things to go awry.14. Burning bridges. This popsicle stand may be blown (or about to be), but no matter how resentful or angry you feel about your soon-to-be-former job, it’s in your best interest to be gracious until your last second in the office. You never know who you’ll come across again in the future, so you don’t want th e lingering impression to be, â€Å"Oh, I remember that person. What a jerk!†Your Future CareerThere’s one more mistake you don’t want to make, and this one has nothing to do with what you’re currently doing; it has to do with limiting your future career options.15. Letting inertia get the better of you.Are you still at your job because you don’t want to rock the boat and try to leave? Are you sacrificing career goals in the interest of stability? According to Forbes’s Liz Ryan, this â€Å"falling asleep† is one of the deadliest things that can happen in your career. Always be on the lookout for new opportunities, and find ways to make these opportunities work so that you can take advantage.Taken individually, none of these career mistakes are likely to translate into being career killers. But if you’re more aware of the consequences of even the smallest career pitfalls, you’ll be that more adept in getting right around them.

Fast protein liquid chromatography (FPLC) Term Paper

Fast protein liquid chromatography (FPLC) - Term Paper Example Furthermore, it supposes that the chromatographic column contains an infinite number of separate layers (theoretical plates). Separate equilibrations of the sample between the stationary and mobile phase occur in these layers. The analyte moves down the column by transfer of equilibrated mobile phase from one ‘plate’ to the next. There is a more convincing theory, ‘the rate theory.’ This theory depends on the speed of elution and thus speeds of diffusion of the dissolved particles. The analysis and application of this theory leads to the Van Deemter equation. This equation relates the variance per unit length of a separation column to the linear mobile phase velocity by considering several factors. They are physical, kinetic, and thermodynamic properties of a separation. The physical factors are such as; A) Eddy diffusion. B) Longitudinal diffusion C) Resistance to mass transfer It (chromatography) is thus seen to exploit the differences in partitioning beha vior between a mobile phase and a stationary phase to separate the components in a mixture. These components contained within a mixture may interact with the stationary phase based on charge, differing solubility or adsorption capability. Several terminologies are associated with the process of chromatography; a) The analyte- this is the substance to be separated during chromatography. b) Bonded phase- this is a stationary phase that is covalently bonded to the support particles or to the inside wall of the tube being utilized.. c) A chromatogram is the visual output of the chromatograph. d) The eluate is the mobile phase that is leaving the separation column. e) The eluent is the solvent that carries/dissolves the analyte. f) The immobilized phase is a stationary phase that is immobilized on the support particles, or on the inner wall of the column tubing. It is similar to the bonded phase g) The mobile phase is the phase that moves in a definite direction. h) The  solute  refe rs to the sample components in a solvent. i) The  solvent  refers to any substance capable of solubilizing another substance. This is important especially in the liquid mobile phase in liquid chromatography. Several methods of chromatography exist as well (singh). They include; 1) Chiral chromatography 2) Countercurrent chromatography 3) Pyrolysis gas chromatography 4) Simulated moving bed chromatography 5) Reversed phase chromatography 6) Two dimensional chromatography 7) Expanded bed adsorption chromatography 8) Size exclusion chromatography 9) Ion exchange chromatography 10) Supercritical fluid chromatography 11) FPLC The FPLC is the method of interest in this case. The FPLC method was developed and marketed in Sweden by the Pharmacia Company in 1982. It was originally called fast performance liquid chromatography. Principle of functioning The purpose of purifying proteins with FPLC is to deliver quantities of the target protein at sufficient purity. This is done in a way tha t ensures the protein is in a biologically active state to suit its further use. Furthermore this can mean pure enough that the biological activity of the target is retained. This high level of purity requires preliminary preparation of the sample. This is mostly by IEC. In most FPLC systems, there are two solvents/ buffers (A, B). There is also a resin that is chosen so that the protein of interest will bind to it by a charge interaction. When the sample and mix of buffer (100% A) and protein is introduced, the protein will bind to

Environmental Challenges that Sony Faces Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 3000 words

Environmental Challenges that Sony Faces - Essay Example The present research has identified that various changes in the marketplace which particularly should always involve political, economic, social, technological, environmental and legal factors and more. Under political factor, it is always common to look at the government’s conservatism when it comes to dealing with business. One perfect example would be the case of privatization. In every government, there is always a strong stand on controlling the rise of the certain organization. In Japan, for instance, various organizations are faced with remarkable challenges because the government is trying to protect the interest of small organizations in their respective industry. However, the ability of Sony to leverage its core competencies together with other organization is a proof that there is always the right timing in politics. For instance, Sony’s intent to leverage its core competencies with a Swedish telecommunication company in order to beat Nokia resulted in the bi rth of Sony Ericsson. This joint venture is a remarkable proof that finding the right place for each organization is needed in order to enhance its core competencies. This at some point has specifically involved the prevailing political stand of a nation which basically has a great impact on the entire business process of an organization. For instance, a government saying no to privatization may significantly create an impact on those organizations planning to leverage their core competencies through it. With this, it is important to understand politics as a major thing that affects how the entire business should be conducted primarily because of the prevailing government’s stand. However, it is not only in this broad and general illustration how politics essentially affects Sony. In modern situation, politics itself could stand between competitors or even within an organization. This is a proven trend in the whole business industry of electronics. For instance, every profit organization in this industry is simply trying to be a cut above the other by reaching its competitive advantage. Competitive advantage is something that needs to be worked out because it serves as something that will enhance core competencies.

The Importance of Shareholder Wealth Maximization in Business

The Importance of Shareholder Wealth Maximization in Business In modern finance, it is proven that shareholder wealth maximization is the superior goal of a firm and shareholders are the residual claimants; therefore maximizing shareholder returns usually implies that firms must also satisfy stakeholders such as customers, employees, suppliers, local communities and the environment first (Courses Work, Corporate Finance Module, Leeds Metropolitan University). Also, Michael C.Jensen argued that a firms value can not be maximized if the management board or shareholders ignores the interest of its stakeholders (Michael C.Jensen, 2001). Thus, I agree with the argument that the main goal of a firm is to maximize shareholder wealth but it does not mean that management should disregard stakeholders. To begin with, it is necessary to understand what is shareholder wealth and why maximizing shareholder wealth is superior objective? According to Glen Arnold (Corporate Financial Management, 4th, P. 13), maximizing shareholder wealth is defined as maximizing purchasing power as well as the flow of dividends to shareholders through time and it is a long-term perspective. In addition, a very important point to explain why shareholder wealth maximization is superior objective is that shareholders are the real owners of the firm, of course, they desire the companys operation will create their returns as much as possible; therefore, management board should make investment and financing decisions with the target of maximizing long-term sharholder wealth. This assumption is made mainly on practical grounds, but there are respectalble theoretical justifications too (Corporate Financial Management, 4th, P. 7). Thus, with practical reason, shareholder wealth maximization is a precise and clear decision as well as a suitable and operationally feasible goal. Also, shareholder wealth is represented by the market price of a firms common stock (Contemporary Financial Management, R. Charles Moyer, Jame R. McGuigan, William J.Kretlow, P.5) and stock prices illustrate clearly about the magnitude, timing and risk connected with profits that stockholders hope to get in future, so management should drive the stock price as high as possible. Furthermore, the greater the risk associated with receiving a future benefit, the lower the value investors place on that benefit (Contemporary Financial Management, R. Charles Moyer, Jame R. McGuigan, William J.Kretlow, P.5). Thus, maximizing the present value of expected future returns to the owners is also the true target for the firm in term of reaching shareholder wealth maximization and the returns will be represented in forms such as takings of common stock sales as well as healthy periodic dividends. Besides that, it is also important to realize that the goal of maximizing shareholder wealth has some advantages. Fistly, it explicitly considers the time value of money and risk factors of the benefits expected to receive to the owners. In other words, the elements of timing and risk must be considered by managers as they make an important financial decision, for example capital expenditures. Secondly, if a firm has a decision that can make the market price inceasing, it is a good decision. On in other hand, if it does not achieve the effective result, this should not be taken (at least not voluntarily). Finally, maximizing shareholder wealth is an impersonal aim. If stockholders oppose the companys policies, they can sell their shares freely and invest their fund in others, however, it is noticeable that the shares should be under more favorable terms than are available under any other stratergy. Also, investors will be possible to sell their shares with the best price if they have consumption pattern as well as risk preference which is not accommodated by the investment, financing and dividend decisions of that firm. They also can purchase shares in firms that closely meet the investors needs. For all above reasons, the shareholder wealth maximization is the superior objective in financial management. However, in term of theoretical reasons, many studies and financial books have proven that shareholder wealth rests on companies which are willing to build long-term relationships with stakeholders. So, focusing on the interests of stakeholders is the most important objective of the company to maximize shareholder wealth. Also, Michael C.Jensen stated that A firm cannot maximize value if it ignores the interests of its stakeholders (European Financial Management, Vol. 7, No.3, 2001, P. 298) Firstly, customers can be seen as the top of hierarchy of stakeholders. They are one of the most important factor and greatest challenge to primacy of shareholder interests. It is undebatable that no company can create great wealth for its shareholders without a stable and growing revenue base, which can be only reached by having very satisfied and loyal customers (Marakon Associates, 1993). So, a company wants to have an increasingly growing number of customers who are willing to pay money to have its products and services, it forces to meet the their satisfaction of product quality, reasonable prices, and good services. In other words, the product or service must be meet or exceeds expectations and is acquired at a price no higher than its perceived value. Also, the grown in sales by creating value for customers will maximize the firms stock price in the form of efficient and courteous service, adequate stocks of merchandise (Financial Management 12th, 2008, Eugene F.Brigham and Michael C.Ehrhardt, P.10). Therefore, the more volume of products distributed, the more shareholder value increased because of a vast profits after selling products and services. Secondly, employees also are of vital important in stakeholder objectives of the shareholders. They are the primary workforce and the potential source of significant competitive advantage which can create the superior value directly. According to Marakon Associates, 1993, pursuing the objective of maximizing value for shareholders also maximizes the economic interests of all employees over time, even when maganement is forced to downsize the company. Thus, they will be faithful and devote all their skills and talent if companys management board appreciates their crucial role as well as give the best policies for employees including paying fair wages, maintaining fair hiring practices and safe working conditions, supporting education. In other word, the keys to company success is that it must be the motivation for staffs to devote the cream of them (Financial Management 12th, 2008, Eugene F.Brigham and Michael C.Ehrhardt, P.10). Conversely, if the company does not give its mind to improving the employees lives and spirits, they will not try their best to produce quality products, resulting in failure in satisfying customers. Consequently, the amount of cash flow is poor, therefore, poor stockholder returns is indisputable. Furthermore, one factor which will generate unforeseeably great value of a firm is the interests of society as a whole. When businesses take a long-term view, the interests of the owners and society often coincide. (Timothy J. Gallagher and Josehp D. Andrew, Financial Management: Pricnciple and Practice, fouth edition, publishied by Freeload Press, 2007, P.11). Thus, it is absolutely indisputable that social responsibility with local communities and the environment in which the company operating are become an important consideration for the boards of companies, especially large companies, such as the source of supplies, for expamle rubber, wood, paper from managed forests as well as protecting the consumers and following the local business legislation. Therefore, the more a firm contributes social interests, the more value of trademark it generates. Another important factor which affect directly to the companys business activity is suppliers. Suppliers and supply chain management are both crucial to developing and implementing strategies that generate the hightest long-term cash flow Marakon Associates, 1993. It is clearly acknowledged that suppliers will be stable and reliable partners if the managment board has a fair, reasonable treat to them. This is shown in implementing all provisions of contracts as well as pay the bills on time. Furthermore, if a firm depends mostly on imported materials, it is necessary for it to have a sustainable vendor in order to keep its operation stably. On in other hand, the positive relation between a company and suppliers wiil be cause great damage if it always attempts to get very cheap prices, even below market levels as well as detaining payments as much as possible. Consequently, the company will receive poor quality materials in term of cheap prices and suppliers will stop supplying if they see companys fraudulent actions such as postpone payments in many times or the firms financial resource is limited To illustrate for the important role of stakeholders, the case of Vedan Vietnam (the company of Vedan Group, Taiwan) is one typical example for these arguements. During the operating period from 1991 to 2008 in Vietnam, Vedan has illegal discharged of 43,000m3 untreated waste water into Thi Vai river per month on avarage. The pollution has been spread to the area along 12 kilometres of the Thi Vai River, as well as 2,082 hectares of agricultural land in the three provinces of Dong Nai, Ba Ria Vung Tau and Ho Chi Minh City. In addition, respiratory diseases and interstinal sickness were also increasingly common among local people. This inhuman action resulted huge losses to the farmers who living depend on fishing, breeding aquatic creatures and building dams. And as stated in the news: Vedan Pollution Kills River Creatures: Can Gio Farmers to Sue (http://www.saigon-gpdaily.com.vn, October 23th, 2008) the company had to pay a compensation of VND1.8 billion (US$ 92,300 at todays exchange rate) to the farmers by the end of 2008. But the pollution continued, killing more of the farmers shrimps and fish and leading them to the brink of bankruptcy. Farmers in Thuan An have piled up bank debts of hundreds of millions of dong. It cannot be denied that the companys activities destroyed the human ecology in which it operating and seriously effective for living of the locals. Consequencly, during the two first quarters of this year, Vedan has been facing a boycott the companys products of customers and supermarket system such as Big C, Coop Mart. As a result, according to the news on thanhniennews.com (Boycott fear forces river polluter payout,   8/13/2010) the Vedan Vietnam General Director Yang Kun Hsiang asserted that they would pay 50 percent of the compensation for HCMC and Ba Ria-Vung Tau within a week after signing an agreement with the local authorities, and the other 50 percent will be paid in early next year with the total of VND30 billion to Dong Nai; VND10 billion to Ba Ria-Vung Tau and HCMC was VND16 billion. Considedring all arguments put forward, I have finally arrived at the conclusion that the goal of maximizing shareholder wealth is the superior objective in financial maganement of a firm. Still, I strong emphasize that the firm will create shareholder wealth as much as posibble if it realizes the importance of the interests of all their constituent group or stakeholders and satifies them, not just considers to the interets of stockholders.
